    Cased U.S. Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver. Serial number 138889 (all matching including wedge), .44 caliber, 8-inch barrel. Inspector's D on breech and cylinder. Blued and case-hardened finish. Brass trigger guard and fore strap. Varnished walnut grips with cartouches. Contained in baize-lined hardwood case with working lock and key. Sold together with Colt-marked Eley cap tin, Colt-marked dual cavity bullet mold and Colt-marked Stand-of-Arms brass flask.

    Condition: Fine as period refinished. Barrel retaining approximately 70-80% of a redone blue. Barrel address shows evidence of buffing. Balance a thinning blue-brown patina with scattered scratches. Tool marks around wedge. Generous amounts of case colors remain on lever, frame and hammer. Backstrap with patches of light to moderate pitting. Grips: Fine with slight shrinkage and very good cartouches. Minor dents to bottom of right grip panel. Bright bore with moderate pitting. Action crisp. Accessories: Very good to fine.
