    Cased Colt Model 1855 Sidehammer Model 5 Revolver with London Proofs. Serial no. 4886, .31 percussion caliber, 4 1/2-inch round barrel with 2-line New York address. Full-fluted cylinder. High polish blue and case-hardened finish. British proofs on left side of barrel lug and on cylinder. Varnished hardwood grips. Contained in period hardwood case with brass hardware and blank shield escutcheon on lid. Blue-baize interior partitioned and containing Colt's 2-cavity bullet mold, powder flask marked "drams", empty enameled Eley Brothers cap tin, angled screwdriver, oiler and cleaning rod. Condition: Very good to fine. Retaining approximately 35-45% original blue, the balance a smooth gray-brown patina. Muted case colors on lever and hammer. Grips are fine with light handling wear. Action crisp. Accessories: Very good to fine. Case: Fine as possibly re-lined. Key absent.
