    5-Digit U.S. Colt Single Action Army Revolver. Serial no. 32040. .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with single-line Hartford address. Barrel marked on bottom with a P and J.T.C. [John T. Cleveland]. inspector stamp. "Donut" style ejector rod button. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and U.S. marked frame stamped: L.D [Lewis Draper]. Left side of frame marked with two-line patent dates and U.S. Cylinder stamped: J.T.C. Varnished walnut grips with 1876 date and DAL [David A. Lyle] inspector's cartouche on left grip. Faint JTC cartouche on right grip and butt of right grip stamped: J.T.C. A fine example of a U.S. martial single action revolver. Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approximately 70-80% finish mixed with grey-brown patina. Areas of iridescent case-hardening remaining on hammer and frame. Grips excellent with light wear present. Action tight and crisp.
