    Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol. Serial no. 78724, .45 caliber, 5-inch barrel. Left side of slide with Colt patent dates and, SPRINGFIELD ARMORY/U.S.A. [flaming bomb]. Left side of frame marked: UNITED STATES PROPERTY. Another flaming bomb ordnance mark on frame above release button. Right side of slide with U.S. eagle and, MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY. Checkered walnut grips with diamond escutcheons. Lanyard ring at butt. Early style magazine. Condition: Good. Slide with blue only in protected areas. Frame retaining approximately 50-60% blue finish with balance a smooth grey patina. Small scratch below slide lock. Grips are fine with moderate handling wear. Oil stain at top of magazine. Very good bore with light wear.
