Description
Mauser Model 96 Red Nine Semi-Automatic Pistol.Serial no. 82378 [all matching], 9mm caliber, 4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear adjustable 50m-500m sight. Blued finish. German proof marks to underside of barrel and left side of breech. Grooved walnut grips with red nine on each panel. Lanyard eye. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 11376 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 60-70% of a thinning finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Minor scuffs and dings to wood. Action good. Strong bore. Please note: Mauser has Step Barrel, top assembly not original to the gun or possible rework.
