    Description

    Mauser Model 96 Red Nine Semi-Automatic Pistol. Serial no. 52190, 9mm caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with adjustable 50m-500m sight. Bottom of barrel with multiple proof marks. Top of breech marked:WAFFENFABRIK /MAUSER/OBERNDORFF. Left side of breech with crown over U proof mark. Right side of frame marked: WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORFF A NECKAR. 32-groove walnut grips with red nine on each. Lanyard ring. Backstrap slotted for shoulder stock. Condition: Fair to good. Retaining approximately 40-50% original finish, thinning to a thin gray on the barrel with patches of fine pitting present. Front sight a crude replacement. Breech with signs of having been heavily cleaned. Patches of pitting and staining to both sides of frame. Traces of case colors on hammer and trigger. Part of triggerguard absent. Grips are good with scattered dents. Bore is bright but with patches of fine pitting.
