    Master Engraver, David W. Harris

    Important DW Harris Signed and Engraved Remington Rand 1911 A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol.
    Serial no. 1292823, .45 caliber, 5-inch barrel. Nickel-plated finish. Extensively American scroll engraving by Harris throughout gun. Beautiful work borders around serial number, model designation and address. Fitted with bone grips with Texas longhorn inserts of both sides with the initials R / R. Pistol is signed DW HARRIS on right side of frame near the slide and hammer. Sold together with an original letter signed by David W. Harris confirming the gun by serial number and style on engraving.
    Note: Texas engraver David Wade Harris, who is still active in Granbury, TX, learned his craft from Weldon Bledsoe who learned the Cattle Brand design from Cole Agee

    Condition: Fine to excellent as refinished at time of engraving. Retaining approximately 95-96% nickel-plated finish with just minor blemishes and fine scratches to finish. Dried patches of grease in protected areas. Grips appear to be added at a later time. Magazine later replacement. Grips with light wear and fine scratches from storage and handling. Action crisp. Bore ok, light pitting present.
