DescriptionGerman Mauser G Date P08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol With Holster, Snail Drum Magazine, Three Extra Magazines and .22 Conversion Barrel. Serial no. 3878c, 9mm caliber, 4-inch barrel with standard sights. Blued finish, the small parts strawed. All visible numbers matching. Checkered wood grips. Toggle stamped S/42 (Mauser code), top of chamber stamped G, indicating 1935 production. First variation with early army acceptance marks stamped on the right side of the receiver. Proper type I magazine, nickel plated with aluminum bottom. Magazine is numbered to the pistol but is in the "k" block. Sold with three additional magazines, one a Type II military proofed magazine, a post-war aluminum-base magazine marked Mexico, and a .22 magazine marked Made in Germany. Additionally a 32-round snail drum marked B/N (Gebrüder Bing) and serial numbered 578663 with a crown/S proof on the left side of the magazine wall. This superb pistol is sold with a .22 conversion barrel marked Made in Germany. Included is a 1964 reprint of a Luger instructional manual titled The "Parabellum" Automatic Pistol. Lastly the rig is completed by a black leather hard shell holster dated 1937 on the reverse with a G. j. ENSINK & CO./OHRDRUF manufacturer's mark and military acceptance proof. The holster is lacking the loading tool.
Condition: Very good. Retaining 85-90% finish, thinning on the grip straps and worn on the high spots. Straw finish on the trigger and take down lever worn. A few scattered fine surface pits. Action crisp. Bore bright. Holster may have started life brown and has possibly been dyed black contemporarily. The holster is worn at the edges, with a few modest surface scratches. The magazines and accessories are in very good or better condition.
