German DWM 1918 Dated Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol.

Serial no. 5942 [barrel and frame], 9mm caliber, 4-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Breech marked 1918. DWM in script to toggle. S/42 stamped to base of barrel. German proof marks to right side of barrel and frame. Checkered hardwood grip panels. Lanyard ring. Aluminum based magazine.
The German DWM Luger Pistol, commonly known simply as the Luger, is one of the most iconic and recognizable handguns in history. Officially known as the Pistole Parabellum 1908 (P08), it was designed by Georg Luger and produced by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), a prominent German arms manufacturer in the early 20th century.

Condition: Good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a grey patina with areas of thinning, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Small parts with non-matching numbers. Grips good. Action crisp. Bright bore. From the Collection of James Schubert.
