    Experimental Colt Archives Colt 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol.
    Serial no. 3153-MR, .38 Special caliber, 5-inch barrel. Blued finish. Ribbed slide with target sights. Barrel hand marked: III 15. Competition trigger. Left side of frame marked: NATIONAL MATCH/COLT/AUTOMATIC/.38 SPECIAL/MID RANGE. Magazine is marked: COLT/ SUPER/.38 AUTO. Coltwood grips with Rampant Colt. Contained in Colt Custom Shop cardboard box which is numbered to the gun and with X in a circle denoting experimental model. Sold together with original Styrofoam inserts and a card marked: HISTORICAL RESEARCH FORM which confirms current configuration and caliber. Sold together with the December 18, 2008 Colt Factory Letter confirming configuration. Remarks: SUBJECT PISTOL WAS A SAMPLE AND DISPLAY PISTOL KEPT AT THE COLT FACTORY. Letter also indicates a ship date of 2008 to Greg Martin Auctions in San Francisco.

    Condition: Excellent. Retaining approximately 94-96% original finish with just scattered handling wear. Bright bore almost no wear. Magazine present. Box with scuffs and separated end flap.
