    Description

    Custom Pair of U.S. Model 1911 Ithaca Semi-Automatic Pistols Belonging to Texas Ranger Captain Clint Peoples. Serial nos. 2124594 & 2641927, .45 caliber, 5-inch barrels. Blued finish. Left side of frames stamped: FJA [military inspector stamp]/P. Entire pistols custom appliquéd with engraved floral scrolls. Trigger bows appliquéd with silver roped border overlays. Custom mother-of-pearl grips, the left and right grips of each inscribed: CTP in Old English letters. Engraved screws. All of this fine work was done by famed Texas bit and spur maker, Adolph Bayers. Both contained in individual custom, fleece-lined, floral-tooled light brown leather zippered travel bags. Sold together with a copy of the 1986 Loan Agreement from Texas Ranger Museum arranging for these pistols to be on display at that time. Condition: Both are good as reconfigured. Retaining approximately 30-40% finish, the remainder with grey age patina and wear overall. Grips are excellent. Actions excellent. Bright bores.
