    Rare U.S. Smith & Wesson Model 3 American Single Action Revolver with Roy Jinks Letter.
    Serial no. 2070 [cylinder, butt and inside right grip panel], .44 caliber, 8-inch ribbed barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Nickel-plated finish. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Top of barrel marked: SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT. JULY 10. 60. JAN. 17. FEB. 17. JULY 11. 65. & AUG 24. 69. and U.S. Ainsworth "A" inspector mark stamped on left side of frame. Smooth walnut grip panels. 1889 written inside of left grip panel and 1889 / W. SAGERS / TREMONT CITY / OHIO. Accompanied with Roy G. Jinks letter dated June 12, 2003. States that serial no. 2070 was sold on March 16, 1871 and shipped to the U.S. Government, National Armory, Springfield, MA.

    Condition: Very good to fine. Retaining approximately 60-70% finish with some thin spots, scattered handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Strong bore. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
