    In-The-Style of Cuno Helfricht

    Pair of Engraved and Consecutively Numbered Colt Single Action Army Revolvers.
    Comprising: 1) Serial no. 55722, .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with 1-line Hartford address. Left side of frame with 3-date patent mark. Front of triggerbow marked: .45. Nickel-plated finish. Beautifully scroll-engraved on a stippled background over most of the gun. Fine riband of dots and checks surround the address. Ejector rod housing with rocker-engraved wavy line motif. Backstrap thumbrest with converging lines shield bordered by horse-shoe-with-circles motif. Sunbursts to either side of hammer. Mother-of-pearl grips, the right panel relief-carved steerhead with ruby eyes. 2) Serial no. 55723, .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with identical treatment to the gun as seen on 55722. Inspector's initial U on frame under the right grip panel. Carved mother-of-pearl grips matching the set on 55722. Manufactured in 1880. Sold together with a factory letter confirming engraving, pearl grips and ship date. Engraving similar to the work of Cuno Helfricht. Also accompanying this pair is a binder of biographical material, mostly related to LuLu Parr famous 101 Ranch Wild West Show performer.

    Condition: 1) Fine as refinished. Retaining approximately 80-90% of an old re-nickel. Slightly faded and showing some fine scratches throughout. Scattered dents and handling wear. Triggerguard screw with tool marks. Old repair to heel of right grip panel. Good bore with fine pitting. Action crisp. 2) Very good as refinished. Retaining approximately 70-80% of an old re-nickel with scattered patches of surface rust and patches of reddish-gray possibly from uneven cleaning. Scattered spotting to frame and cylinder. Peeling on gripstraps and triggerguard. Replacement mainspring. Good bore with fine pitting. Action smooth.
