Very Nice Confederate Leech & Rigdon .36 Caliber Percussion Revolver, #324 Matching. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Bill Gary dated 2002, this is a very nice example of this very desirable Confederate primary revolver. The only other provenance that accompanied the gun is a letter which states that "This gun belonged to my step father, Richard Joseph Morgan,. It was handed down through his family, I believe it was originally issued to his great grandfather, who was a lieutenant in the Confederate Army."

The gun is overall smooth and gray with just a few very minor areas of salt and peppering, very nice. Nipples fine, action tight and crisp. Overall a very sharp gun. The serial number on the barrel housing has a single dot above. The one on the frame has a dot above and number "5" below. This same sequence with the serial number and "5" below is repeated on the loading lever. Trigger guard with serial number and single dot below. Serial number on butt also with "5" above and very small numeral "4" in the middle of the butt strap. Marked Leech & Rigdon on the barrel flat with a few minor dings. Numeral "3" in addition to the serial number on the cylinder. The loading lever uses the Navy type latch which Gary says is correct as he has noted it on other Leech & Rigdon revolvers. The grips excellent with dark patina.

The gun retains the original thin leather flap holster with flat faced iron finial. Holster plugged on the end. Intact but with some tears along the edge of the flap. Absolutely original and correct, fitting every contour of the gun perfectly.

An exceptionally nice, completely original and correct, specimen of this desirable Confederate primary revolver and especially nice with the original Confederate holster.
