Very Fine Quality Mid-19th Century British Double Barrel Percussion Pistol. 6 1/2" iron barrels, .60 bore, with captive ramrod. The top flat between the barrels is marked as follows: "C. MOORE, 77 ST. JAMESS STREET, LONDON." Both engraved locks have sliding safeties and are marked "C. MOORE / LONDON." A clipped corner vertical silver rectangle, serving as the wrist escutcheon, is engraved with a family crest over "N". The ramrod thimble, nose cap, barrel tang and trigger guard are iron with engraving on the latter two. A simple 3/8" silver disc is in the center of the butt, with eight shallow lines radiating outward; the grip has extremely well executed checkering. A single barrel key on the fore stock secures the barrels to the stock. This fine gun exhibits smooth dark patina overall with crisp engraving and sharp checkering. The mechanisms function well, with the sliding safeties just a bit 'sticky'. Very nice gun.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
