    U.S. Model 1842 Percussion Pistol by Johnson.
    .54 caliber, 8 1/2-inch round barrel with dovetailed steel blade front sight. Top of breech marked: US / S.K. / F. Left barrel flat with: STEEL. Brass mountings. Steel swivel ramrod with button head. Other end has threaded fitting. Lock is marked: US / I. N. JOHNSON. Behind the hammer with: MIDDTN / CONN / 1853. Fine walnut stock with cartouches on left side. Blued trigger.

    Condition: Very good. Steel with a mostly smooth, mottled blue-gray patina with scattered patches of fine pitting. Brass has a mellow age patina showing light wear. Stock is fine with some staining and minor dents. Cartouches are extremely faint. Action good.
