    U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock Martial Pistol by Simeon North

    Unserialized, .54 caliber, 9 1/16-inch round barrel with brass blade front sight. Lock marked S. NORTH / U S / MIDLn CON (surrounding eagle). RJ / P / US at breech. Brass pan. Walnut stock with steel band and furniture. Wooden ramrod. According to Flayderman's, 19,374 manufactured between 1817-20. See 6A-017.

    Condition: Fair as configured. Gun an overall mottled gray/brown patina. Scattered pitting throughout. Gun cleaned and touched up. Moderate wear/work to lockplate behind hammer. Wood has old revarnish and has dents, bruises and small loses. Possibly replaced wood. Marred screws. Separation to backstrap furniture. Action needs tightening. Bore dark.
