DescriptionUnmarked Ornate Continental Flintlock Pistol, Circa 1750. .69 smoothbore caliber, 9-inch tapered multi-stage barrel, the lower half engraved with floral scroll motifs and interspersed with gilt overlay. Molded bands and dentate borders at breech. Scroll-engraved tang. Banana-shaped lockplate and gooseneck cock, both ornately engraved en suite. Varnished walnut stock with extensive scrolling brass wire inlay. Relief-sculptured brass furniture, decorated with panoplies. Thin languets. Bulbous sculpted brass pommel, decorated with panoplies of arms. No ramrod present. Possibly made for the Middle East market.
Condition: Good. Metal showing wear, pitting and age patina. Wood with light wear and patina. Action very good. No flint present.
