Private Purchase British Silver Mounted Officer's Percussion (Conversion) Holster Pistol. 8" octagon to round .65 caliber brass smoothbore barrel with three proofs and the faint markings "...RIES" and "LONDON" still visible. The gun is 14" overall. The converted lock appears to be original to the gun, with an engraved percussion hammer reaching the nipple on the drum conversion. There are two ramrod pipes, an ornate openwork side plate, engraved trigger guard, silver wrist escutcheon engraved with script letters "JG" and a fancy butt cap with side straps and a standing lion in relief. All of the mounts are silver with the rear trigger guard tang bearing touchmarks that include the letter "g" in the style of 1782-83. Uncarved walnut stock. The ramrod is a replacement but appears to retain the original horn tip. Light wear overall, barrel markings weak as noted. Two very minor chips forward of the lock and above the butt cap, and a really negligible hairline at the front of the right forestock. Wood overall excellent with nice patina. Metal also with pleasant patina and a very pretty gun.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
