Description

Patent Breech Late 18th Century British Original Flintlock Holster Pistol. 10" octagonal .60 caliber smoothbore barrel bearing two tiny proof marks and the engraved word "London" in script. Notched rear sight and very small blade front sight, with two barrel keys to affix it to the walnut stock. Original flintlock with reinforced pan and sliding safety that is frozen in place. The lock bears the name "I. REA,. JUNr" within a clipped corner rectangle. There is engraving on the lock screw heads and washers, and also on the trigger guard with the front tang terminating in a pineapple finial. Both the sides and upper surface of the grip are flattened. The gun is 16" overall. All iron surfaces with nice dark patina, with some minor staining and a few small areas of light pitting. Wood shows a few minor dents/nicks commensurate with normal use and is excellent with nice patina. The ramrod is a replacement. Fine quality pistol in very nice condition.
