Later Variant Of French M1822 (Date On Tang) Percussion Pistol. 7 3/4" .70 caliber smoothbore barrel, octagon at the breech then quickly transitioning to round. Includes profuse markings and the date 1856. The walnut stock is also marked in several lines behind the side plate. On the face of the lock is the following "Mre Imp.ale / du Tulle" in two lines. The front sight is composed of an iron dome shaped sight base at the muzzle with a small teat at the top; the rear sight is a raised notch in the breech plug tang area. The original iron ramrod is present. The mounts are brass with the exception of an iron strap that continues from the end of the breech plug tang to the top of the butt plate tang and the rear section of the trigger plate. Iron lanyard loop at the butt cap. Very solid, nicely marked, mechanically perfect example, with nice untouched patina overall. A few very minor dents on the wood but overall an exceptional and attractive example.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
