Large Silver Mounted Walnut Stocked British Flintlock Holster Pistol. 16" overall and 10" octagonal iron barrel with patent breech, marked on the top flat "H. W. Mortimer & Co. / Gun Makers to His Majesty..." Barrel flat directly below on lock side marked "N. Terry". Dovetailed silver front sight, .63 caliber. The gun is an extremely well executed reconversion utilizing a single screw roller frizzen lock marked "H. W. Mortimer / Co." with reinforced cock, and sliding safety. Silver butt cap with ascending straps and silver trigger guard bearing five London silversmith's marks, including maker(not discernible), lion passant, leopard's head crowned, date year "F" for 1800/01, and monarch's head. The original ramrod has iron worm and horn tip. Iron is gray and smooth with some scattered stains. The silver shows uneven patina but clearly not cleaned recently and exhibits a small dent on the right side of the butt cap. The wood shows a nicely closed crack forward of the lock, else excellent with just some smooth even wear and a few minor dents. Very nice pistol.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
