Fancy English Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by Segallas.
Flared brass 7 ½-inch barrel with 1 ¼-inch diameter muzzle. Ribbed and in two-stages with fine floral engraving, panoply of arms and marked both LONDON and SEGALLAS. Top of muzzle has been embellished with vine and flower figure. Left side of breech with three proof marks. Upper tang and screw with light engraving. Back lock extensively floral engraved. Fine engraving to screws. Engraved trigger guard includes panoply of arms which matches those found on both sides of floral engraved butt cap. Relief-carved hardwood stock with fine silver wire inlay at wrist and brass-tipped ram rod.

Condition: Fine. All brass with smooth, pleasing age patina. Small patch of powder fouling at breech. Steel a smooth, slightly mottled gray finish. Stock fine with only minor hairline cracks near muzzle and front of lock. Likely re-varnished a long time ago. Lock slightly proud to wood at rear of lock. A beautiful example of an early 19th century maritime pistol.
