NVSN, approximately .64 caliber, 4 ½-inch octagonal barrel with German silver front sight and incised border at the breech. Sliding safety lock marked: MEREDITH/MOXHAM. Smooth walnut stock. Engraved guard with pineapple finials. White-tipped ebony ram rod. Engraved steel thimbles. Thomas Moxham was a Birmingham gun maker who lived 1762-1837. Underside of barrel with pair of crossed scepter Birmingham Proofmarks.
Condition: Very good to fine. Steel with a mostly smooth, even brown age patina with scattered patches of fine pitting. Lock with traces of case colors. Guard is fine still showing much detail of the original engraving. Stock fine with age/oil stains at steel contact areas. Very smooth finish to wood. Ram rod fine. Action functions.
