    Cased Pair of English Single-Shot Percussion Horse or Traveling Pistols by Smith, London. Unserialized. .69 caliber, 6-inch in-the-white octagonal barrels with brass post sights and marked: LONDON.. Case-hardened scroll-engraved hammers and lockplates marked: SMITH, [probably Charles James Smith, 24 King William St. 1844-1852].. Sliding safeties. Beautifully checkered and varnished walnut stocks with finely engraved and blued steel furniture. Vacant German silver oval wrist and wedge escutcheons. Swivel ramrods. Contained in original dark-stained oak green wool-lined partitioned case with brass flush mounted lid latch, brass locking hooks and keyed lock [key not present]. Sold together with accessories including: cleaning rod, single-cavity ball mold, pewter oiler and combination copper oval cylinder powder flask and ball supply. Condition: Guns. Barrels showing bright metal with scattered light surface spotting and pitting. Hammers and locks retaining approximately 80-90% case-hardening, one pistol with some iridescence, the other faded. Blued steel furniture with minor losses to finish. The wood on one gun is cracked on right fore-end near escutcheon, the other is excellent with light wear present. Actions are both excellent.
