    Cased Bonaparte Flintlock Pistol with Napoleonic Inscription on Lid.
    Unserialized, .36 caliber, 3 1/2-inch part octagonal and part round barrel. Gold-plated octagonal portion of barrel and upper tang with decorative engraving. Rest of metal with nickel-plated finish. Unmarked lock. Smooth hardwood full-body stock with carved floral scene at top of wrist. Contained in custom hardwood display box with fitted felt lining. Top of lid features inlaid silver coin inscribed: LE GENERAL C.V.E. LECLERC / A MA CHERE / PAULINE BONAPARTE / ETRE MA MARIEE EN / LE 14 JUIN 1797, accented with light scroll. Sold along with decorative wooden ramrod and powder flask. Pauline Bonaparte, sister of Napoleon and husband of General Charles Leclerc. General Leclerc and Pauline were married on the day inscribed on the coin. Note: Gun has not been authenticated.

    Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approximately 94-96% finish with a few signs of flaking handling wear and fine pitting. Few minor dings to wood. Action good. Normal age and light storage wear to display box.
