    Description

    C. 1790 Brass Mounted British Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol. 9 3/4" overall, 4 5/8" octagon to round brass barrel with muzzle diameter of approx. 1". Exhibits two proof marks and "London" on the rear of the barrel. Iron lock, with roller frizzen and reinforced pan, marked "Oakes". Brass trigger guard, ramrod pipes and lock bolt washers. Shield shaped brass wrist escutcheon engraved with intertwined letters "WR". Original horn tipped ramrod, the fine walnut stock configured with bag shaped grip with flat sides. Completely original, very fine, overall condition. Really an exceptional example of this scarce and desirable form.
