Description
C. 1770/80 British Screw Barrel Center Hammer Flintlock Pocket Pistol. 7 3/4" overall, 2 1/8" .40 caliber screw off barrel with cannon style muzzle and rear lug for barrel wrench, with three proofs under the breech. Iron frame marked "Galton" in a riband on the left side, with decorative engraved motif on the right. Silver wire inlaid (70% remains and is untouched) on the walnut bag shaped grip. Silver mask butt cap with two touch marks, oval silver wrist escutcheon engraved with two intertwined script initials, iron trigger guard. Very fine condition overall with pleasing patina and showing just some minor honest wear. A most attractive little pistol of exceptional quality.Auction Info
