    C. 1750 Unmarked Pair of British Silver Mounted Flintlock Pistols. 10 3/4" overall, 4 1/2" round, .58 caliber, screw barrels with worn proofs, cannon muzzles, octagonal breeches, reinforced pans and elaborate frizzen springs. Open silver inlays opposite locks, elaborate unengraved silver wrist escutcheons, and unmarked grotesque silver butt caps. One gun with two decorative silver strips along the barrel tang, the other similarly formatted, but missing one of the silver strips. Metal appears to have been lightly hand cleaned overall, with just a few very small scattered areas of very light pitting, negligible. A most impressive and completely original pair of silver mounted British flintlock pistols from the first half of the 18th century.
