    Description

    Allen and Thurber Dragoon Pepperbox Pistol.

    Serial no. 225 (inside grips), 5-inch barrel cluster, .38 caliber. Scroll engraved recoil shield and frame with a punch dot pattern backstrap. Fitted with a spur triggerguard. Walnut grips. Barrel cluster marked: ALLEN & THURBER / WORCESTER / 1837 / CAST STEEL. Bar hammer marked: ALLEN'S PATENT.

    Condition: Very good as refinished. The balance a plum brown patina with minor pitting and faint traces of bluing. Some pitting under recoil shield. Grips ok with some scratches and chips. Action good. Bores dark.
