Description

    1744 Dated British Flintlock Sea Service Pistol with Belt Hook. 19 1/4" overall, 12" .58 caliber smoothbore round iron barrel, with two proof marks. Flat 'banana' lock marked "Smith / 1744" at the rear and crown / GR in the center, with flat reinforced cock. Brass butt cap, trigger guard, side plate and single entry pipe with iron belt hook affixed to rear lock screw. Walnut stock and brass capped ramrod. Overall shows signs of honest wear and use with some scattered small dents/bruises. All iron shows scattered areas of light to, in a few cases, medium pitting. A completely original example of a very scarce British military pistol.
