    Factory Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Colt Letter.
    Serial no. 55723 [frame, triggerguard and butt] and 5723 [cylinder], .45 caliber, 5 1/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight (dated 1877) and frame notch rear sight. Nickel-plated finish. Top of barrel marked: COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Elaborately factory scroll engraved throughout, Helfricht style. Three-line, three-date patent to left side of frame. Triggerbow stamped: .45 CAL. Mother-of-pearl grip panels. Sold along with copy of Colt factory letter confirming specifics and dated October 24, 1995. Manufactured in 1880.

    Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 75-80% finish with scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Faint tracking line to cylinder. Noticeable crack to left grip panel. Action good. Moderately pitted bore. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
