    Description

    Ornately Engraved Pinfire Double Action Revolver. NVSN, .44 caliber, 5 1/4-inch round barrel with gold band at muzzle and dovetailed triangle-bead front sight. Barrel with ornate etched and gold inlay floral motif surrounding oval silver and gold knight's head escutcheon. Folding trigger. Frame, cylinder and hammer with similar floral and figural designs including fine gold wire inlay on edges of frame. Checkered ebony grips, gold inlaid fasteners. Iron lanyard swivel. Condition: Very good to fine. Finish now a mottled gray-brown patina. Minor age wear and patina to inlays. Break to frame at the top of the handle. Noticeable cracks to each grip panel. Action functions. A beautiful example of 19th century firearms art.
