    Civil War Era Presentation Revolver
    One of the Finest Starr Double Actions Made

    Fine Kidder Cased Presentation Starr Model 1858 Double-Action Army Revolver.
    Serial no. 20059, .44 caliber, 6-inch round barrel. High polish blue and case-hardened finish. Left side of frame roll stamped: STARR ARMS CO. NEW YORK. Right side has standard marking: STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856. Most parts with single letter inspector's stamp. Cylinder also with serial no. 20059. One-piece walnut grips, the left panel with scroll-engraved oval brass plate reading: TO/ABNER. Right grip panel with plate reading: FROM/SARAH/1864. Contained in mahogany case in the style of rare Kidder cases. Reinforced brass corners with five compartments lined with purple velvet. The case contains a small leather covered powder flask with fixed charger and marked: W. BARTRAM. Sold together with a tin of 100 Goldmark percussion caps manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co., unmarked, single cavity bullet mold with wooden handle and iron sprue cutter and .44 caliber conical lead bullets.

    Condition: Excellent. Barrel, frame and cylinder retaining approximately 90-95% original high polish blue finish with minor handling and storage wear. Moderate handling wear observed on trigger guard and straps. Hammer and loading lever retain approximately 90-95% vibrant case colors. Grips very good with period presentation plaques. Fine age patina to brass. Case is very good with old repair to lower right corner. Lining with moderate age wear. Flask and cap tin are excellent. Mold is fair showing heavy use. Sprue cutter stop pin absent. A wonderful example of Starr's revolvers. The best we have ever seen.
