    Engraved Josiah Ells Top Hammer Double Action Pocket Model Revolver.

    Serial no. 59 [frame under grip], .31 caliber, 3-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front bead sight. Top hammer stamped: AUG. 1, 1854 / APRIL 28, 1857 and ELLS / PATENT. Elaborately scroll engraved frame. Smooth hardwood grip panels.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with noticeable areas of handling wear, age and pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruises to wood. Action is tight, but functions. Moderately pitted bore.
