Description
Colt New Service Model Commercial Double Action Revolver.Serial no. 324838, 45 COLT, 5 1/2-inch barrel. Blued finish with walnut grips with Rampant Colt silver medallions (numbered to the gun). Factory lanyard. Left side of barrel marked NEW SERVICE 45 COLT. Rampant Colt on left side of frame. Serrated/checkered backstrap. Note: According to gun research/books, approximately 356,000 Colt New Service revolvers were manufactured in total, but it appears that only approximately 122,800 were Commercial variations. This example was manufactured in 1926 according to Colt records and serial number "look up".
Condition: Very good to fine. Retaining approximately 80-85% blued finish with the balance thinning to relief edges and scattered throughout. Some minor scuffs from handling overall, including some wear, bumps to gripstrap and backstrap areas. Some fine pitting on barrel and frame. Light muzzle wear. Grips with dings, mars and some scuffs and loses near bottom. Marred screws. Swivel wear ring to grip handle. Checkering very good with wear. Action crisp, very good bore.
