    William W. Marston Three Barrel Pocket Derringer.
    Serial no. 1063 [barrel and frame under grips], .32 rimfire caliber, 4-inch blued barrel cluster with fixed blade front sight and frame notch rear sight. Brass frame, the left side stamped: WM. W. MARSTON / PATENTED / MAY 20, 1857 / NEW YORK CITY / IMPROVED 1864. Right side of frame features barrel selection switch. Case-hardened hammer. Spur trigger. Smooth walnut grips. Sold together with a copy of a January 8, 1853 Scientific American article complete with period drawings of the guns and information about the Marston breech-loading technology.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a brownish grey patina with wear and pitting. Some trivial dings and patches of pitting present on frame. Grips showing scratches and scuffs. Action good.
