Serial no. 44341, .22 caliber, 7-shot non-fluted cylinder, 3 3/16-inch octagonal ribbed barrel with address reading: SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. Blued and silver-plated finish. 1855 and 1859 patent dates clearly marked on cylinder. Smooth rosewood grips on square, flared butt.
Conditon: Fine. Barrel now a smooth gray slightly mottled patina. Frame retaining approximately 80-85% silver plate with fine scratches. Hammer with traces of case-colors. All markings very sharp. Grips excellent. Action crisp. Manufactured c1862.
