    Philadelphia Deringer.
    .41 caliber, 2 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with dovetailed German silver front sight. Breech and lock marked: DERINGER / PHILADEL. Breech also with P in a sunburst motif. Engraved upper tang, hammer and lock. Engraved German silver mountings including triggerguard, sideplate, flash plate, wedge escutcheon, shield escutcheon on grip and butt cap. Checkered, varnished walnut stock. Contained in felt-lined gutta percha case. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

    Condition: Fine. All markings very crisp. Barrel retaining approximately 40-50% original blue, the balance a thin gray patina. Lock and fittings excellent. Stock: Fine retaining approximately 50% varnish. Overall an excellent example of a classic American pistol.
