Brass frame, nickel-plated hammer, smooth walnut grips. 3) Remington-Elliot Single-Shot Derringer. Serial no. 4284, .41 rimfire caliber, 2 1/2-inch barrel with Ilion, NY address. Blued finish. Smooth walnut grips. 4) Marlin Victor Single-Shot Derringer. Serial no. 858, .38 rimfire caliber, 2 11/16-inch part round blued barrel marked VICTOR on the top and partial Marlin address on right side. Brass frame. Rosewood grips. 5) Remington-Elliot Single-Shot Derringer. Serial no. 6060, .41 rimfire caliber, 2 1/2-inch barrel with Ilion, NY address. Blued and nickeled finish. Smooth walnut grips.
Condition: 1) Good. Barrel now a smooth blue-gray patina with fine spotting and staining. Muted case colors. Grips are fine. Action functions. Bore with moderate pitting. 2) Fair as refinished. Action does not function. Grips appear to be period replacements. 3) Good to very good. Steel now a smooth brown-gray patina. Grips fine. Action tight. Bore with fine to moderate pitting. 4) Good to very good. Steel now a plum-brown patina with scattered pitting. Mellow patina to brass. Grips fine. Action needs adjustment. Bore with moderate pitting. 5) Fine as refinished. Grips are later replacements. Action functions. Bore with light to moderate pitting.
