    Colonel LeMat Brevette Pinfire Single Action Revolver.
    Serial no. 3278 [right side of frame] and 286667 [left side of frame], .44 caliber, 6 3/4-inch octagonal rifled barrel with fixed front bead sight. Lower 4 1/2-inch 20 gauge smoothbore barrel. Various Belgium proof marks to left side of barrel. Right side of barrel marked: COL LA LEMAT BRTE. Blued and case-hardened finish. Checkered walnut grip panels. Lanyard eye. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 1853 / MEMORIAL.
    Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

    Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to grips. Action good. Moderately pitted bores.
