Cased and Engraved Colt Python Model Double Action Revolver Belonging to Texas Ranger H. Joaquin Jackson.Serial no. V76522, .357 Magnum caliber, 6-inch barrel with ventilated rib, fixed front sight and micrometer adjust rear sight. 18k gold-plated finish. Elaborately custom scroll engraved throughout. Faux ivory grip panels with inlaid Colt medallions. Manufactured in 1979. Contained in wooden display case with blue felt lining. Sold along with Texas Ranger badge belonging to Joaquin Jackson. 1 5/8-inches in diameter, polished silver. Constructed from a Mexican 1947 or 1948 issue five peso coin which has been hammered slightly convex and voided to create the Texas "Lone Star" central motif. The badge is engraved on the obverse JOAQUIN JACKSON / CO. E / TEXAS RANGERS. The letters highlighted with black paint and enhanced with additional floral accents. The reverse still retains traces of the die struck 5 peso coin and features a hinged pin and barrel catch for mounting. Also included is a notarized letter by Mr. Jackson stating ownership of the revolver and dated July 18, 1990.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 60-70% gold-plating, with some thin areas, light handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Few minor scuffs to grips. Action crisp. Strong bore. Normal age wear to badge, with some discoloring to reverse side. Noticeable storage dings to case.
