    4-Digit 7th Cavalry Custer-Era U.S. Colt Single Action Army Revolver.
    Serial no. 6357 [frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: - COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. -. Two-line, two-date patent and inadvertently upside down stamped U.S. to left side of frame. Ainsworth "A" inspector mark to base of barrel, cylinder, triggerguard, backstrap and base of grip with faint cartouche to left side. "P" stamped to base of barrel and cylinder. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1874. The serial number falls in the range of Custer's 7th Cavalry troops, initial issues of revolvers during July of 1874. Accompanied by John A. Kopec letter dated November 4, 2017.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of bluing with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Case colors have turned a bright grey color. Scratches and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
