World's Columbian Exposition: Rodney Dexter's Employee Pass to the Columbian Intramural Railway Company, His Ticket Book, and Passes. Exceptionally rare. We have never seen another for purchase but other fair experts say another one or two are in private collections as well. Rodney Dexter's personal ticket book, no tickets remaining as he seems the type never to have missed a day's work! With his photo and noted that it was for "Rodney Dexter, Platform Guard, Intramural R'y, #19 Concessions." With his photo as well. Accompanied by an original thin leatherette slip case for Dexter's pass. In very rare instances these have shown up in collections from the fair. And also, there is a rare pass issued to Rodney Dexter for Admission to the Trans-Mississippi and International Expo dated 5/31, where he went to work following the Columbian Expo. Lastly is Dexter's pass to the Board of Trade of the City of Chicago, dated immediately after the fair closed, Nov 6, 1893, when he would have been out of work briefly. From the collection of Norm Bolotin.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
