World's Columbian Exposition: Five Items from the Old Vienna Exhibit. Old Vienna included exhibits and restaurants within the walls of the old city, as it was hundreds of years earlier. This lot includes: three 25-cent tickets in blue, beige and pink. One is a very low number 035, while the others are 85954 and 47500. Certainly many collectors look for the lowest possible or highest possible numbers and the 035 would likely be lower than any found in today's collections. Doolin 42, although he states that none are known; also, a pass that reads "No.___/World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, Old Vienna/Alt Wien/Midway Plaisance/Complimentary Ticket." The signature is not legible. It is filled out for use by George H. Jenney & Lady, with an additional note "by Hannety" or a similar name. Creased and reinforced; uneven trim at top, probably from an old scrapbook. Rare and never previously recorded nor in Doolin; the cover of a ticket book, which reads "Lina Rindsberger, Waitress, Old Vienna." Her photo has been removed from the other side. From the collection of Norm Bolotin.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
