    Description

    Hudson-Fulton Celebration: Copper & Oak Wall Plaques by Gorham. Pair of 8.75" x 12.25" oak frames with 5.5" x 8" bas-relief copper plaques mounted on each. One reads: "Tercentennial Hendrik Hudson Discovery of the Hudson River MDCIX [1909]. Copyright 1909 Roiné-Weil". The other plaque has similar markings, but reads "Tercentennial Robert Fulton Celebration First Successful Steamboat MDCCCVII-MCMIX [1807-1907]". Each stamped Gorham Co. on verso. Some verdigris on each, more pronounced on the Fulton. Each with suspension loop on verso.
