    Description

Impressive 1901 Pan American Expo Tankard Ornately embellished with an exquisitely painted buffalo, the mascot of the Pan American Exposition, this 7.5" tankard is a near mint and rare example. Beautiful gold beading accents the graphic in the center along with a dark blue border around the rim. The only wear that shows on the piece is along the handle. Although most souvenirs were produced for the masses, this souvenir has the impact of that special one of a kind. Never before have we seen this Pan American piece offered.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
