    Description

1904 St. Louis World's Fair Souvenir Pocket Watch. Sensational pocket watch with a color image of "The Cascades" pictured on the face. The "Cascades" was the famous set of waterfalls that stood in front of the Grand Basin at the fair. Scott Joplin wrote "The Cascades" after being inspired by this image. On the back are nicely embossed images of Napoleon & Jefferson with "Souvenir of the World's Fair - St. Louis 1904" and a decorative floral border design. Open the back of the watch and the intricate workings of the inside are visible along with the original patent information. On the inside lid is the original paper guarantee and instructions for the watch. The crystal is now missing; the watch no longer works; slight "aging" on the finish. 50 mm wide x 70mm tall.
