    Description

1901 Pan American Exposition Large Gilt Bronze Sculpture, Allegorical Musical Figures, 21.5" x 32", quite heavy. Adapted from Raphael Beck's design for the exposition. The musical theme of this piece would suggest it came from the Temple of Music, one of the most popular buildings at the Exposition. The sculpture is finished on both the front and back with integral mounting brackets on each side (bent inward). It appears to be designed to rest on a base. The back has been drilled at a later time with two small holes to accommodate a hanging wire. The back has, "Franz Klvg" and an indecipherable mark. There is some minor scuffing to the reverse and light bending inward, else, fine. A magnificent piece.
