    An amazing assemblage of signatures

We Seven Book by The Astronauts Themselves Signed by the Mercury Seven, Apollo 1 Crew, Apollo 11 Crew, and Numerous Others (Forty Total Signatures by Thirty-two Astronauts), with Zarelli LOAs. (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1962). First edition, first printing. An absolutely amazing assemblage of important early NASA autographs.

Found on page 97 is the popular full-length portrait of the Mercury Seven astronauts in their silver space suits. It has been signed in various inks by all pictured: Wally Schirra, Alan Shepard, Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Gordon Cooper, D K Slayton, and Scott Carpenter. This, by itself, is an important piece, a cornerstone of Space autograph collecting.

On a blank front endpaper are found the signatures, in various inks, of the following: Don Lind, Alan B Shepard Jr, Gordon Cooper, Charles Conrad Jr, Dick Gordon, John Glenn, Dave Scott, Donn Eisele, Walter Cunningham, Roger B Chaffee, Wally Schirra, Ed White, Gus Grissom, John Young, Ron Evans, Tom Stafford, Bill Pogue, Paul Weitz, Michael Collins, Scott Carpenter, James Lovell, Frank Borman, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Alan L Bean, Vance Brand, Al Worden, Joe Kerwin, Joe Engle, Ken Mattingly, and Rusty Schweickart. On the page following are taped-in verso-signed NASA business cards from D K Slayton and Walt Cunningham. In an unknown hand are various notations as to mission.

Overall, this book contains the full-crew signatures of all Mercury flights (of course), Gemini 3, Gemini 5, Gemini 6A, Gemini 7, Gemini 8, Gemini 10, Gemini 11, Gemini 12, Apollo 1, Apollo 7, Apollo 11, Apollo 12, Apollo-Soyuz, and Skylab I (SL-2). It seems possible that James McDivitt (completing Gemini 4 and Apollo 9), Fred Haise, Charlie Duke (completing Apollo 16), and Harrison Schmitt could be added at shows or private signings, if so desired. An unmatched collection all in one book. Included with this lot are two separate Letters of Authenticity from Steve Zarelli, one for the Mercury photo (#200111-2280) and one for the thirty-three other autographs (#200111-2281). A good hardbound book in a poor dust jacket, octavo, 375 pages, illustrated.
